Walks of Charleston

Did you know the first American serial killers resided in Charleston? Charleston’s past is fraught with tragic events that shaped the City's history. Join us on an evening walk and hear the tales that make Charleston a city full of restless souls with unfinished business.

What You'll Do

There will be many stories but some highlights include the following: Visiting the the Historic City Market where you will hear about the Gullah belief in “boo hags" and the Wagener Building where George Poirier committed suicide and is believed to still be haunting its hallways. You will learn about St Philips Church and discover why the graveyard is thought to be haunted by a woman who lost her child at birth. Towards the end of the evening, feel the haunted history behind Waterfront Park and the "face in the flag" that overlooks Fort Sumter.
