Great tour with a fantastic guide who knew lots of information and was great fun
If you're into the history of R and R, this is a must see. Many interesting artifacts. Fun guide was knowledgeable and engaging.
This tour was amazing!!! I have always been an Elvis fan and this was where it all began. Our guide was one of the best. His stories and information left me in awe. He even gave us a recital on the famous piano where Jerry Lee stubbed out his cigar on the keys. If you haven't been on this tour you are missing out big time. Well worth the time and effort.
Well worth a visit ...the guide was great too,he knew just about everything there is to know, you cannot come to memphis and not visit
The trip of Sun Studio was wonderful. Our tour guide Tiffany was very informative and friendly
Best tour in Memphis. Guide is a talented musician and never boring.
This is the original building and recording studio used in the 50s by so many famous artists. Graham, our guide, was very animated and knowledgeable in telling us the stories and secrets behind the scenes. Lots of memorabilia. They also sell record albums! Thoroughly enjoyed the short but entertaining tour. Its still used to this day as a recording studio. I wish I had known about their free shuttle bus from the Rock n Soul museum, just steps from our hotel. They shuttle to Graceland, too.
Slight snag at beginning, but officials handled the issue effectively.
The young guide just a new job for him gave a really good explanation about everything, you could see that he is born with music between his ears. It was a nice tour, I would recommend it to everyone who is into music !
Having heard/read about Sun Studios made going here an adventure as I wanted to see if information given me matched with what I saw. Was most taken with the history displayed and while there were highly profiled artists written about eg. Presley, Cash, Perkins - displays also paid homage to those people who were key in the development of this era. Tour guide's presentation skills also made this tour a joy to participate in.
We arrived a few minutes into the tour but still felt like we didn't miss enough to worry about, their were quite a few people in the small upstairs space but everyone moved around a bit so you could see the displays. I thought the Dewey Phillips display was spectacular, very impressed on how accurate it looked and felt like you took a walk into the past. Downstairs was more open and just as I had imagined it would look, loved that they put a mark on the floor to show where Elvis stood and recorded his music. Our guide was super friendly and we had a wonderful look back as well as a feel of the microphone the stars used back then. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is a music fan, we left knowing a whole lot more than we knew before we stepped foot into Sun Studio
The tour was awesome - our guide was very knowledgeable and you can tell music is his passion when he talked about it. Loved being able to see the DJ booth from the station and the recording studio
This was so much fun! We loved standing in the very spot that Rock was born!
A lot of information and history is presented on this tour and it gives an insight to the music industry at that time.
The guided tour was great. It would be nice to be able to hear everything. I think the tour was a little overbooked but was OK.
excellent 45 minute tour of sun studios. the blonde lady with the baseball cap who gave the tour really knows her stuff and makes this a great experience. On this tour you actually get to hold Elvis Presley's microphone stand, a great photo take.
Fabulous!! The guide was fantastic, she made the tour!!
History wouldn and #39;t be what it is without this place. Lots of stories and artifacts abound. Very knowledgeable guides.
Our tour guide was knowledgable and entertaining. Lots of facts about the birth of Rock and Roll. A must-see while visiting Memphis!
After our visit to Graceland this tour was the icing on the cake. We caught the free shuttle just tip the driver which runs every hour from the Graceland Ticket Office area to Sun Studios/Beale Street. Sun Studios was were it all started for Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and many others. Our tour guide was a passionate young lady with a great sense of humour and wealth of knowledge about the history of the studio. The culmination of the tour was a visit to the actual recording studio where Elvis made his first recording and we got to hold the microphone that he used. There is a cafe there and lots of souvenirs for purchase. Make sure you also check out Beale Street.
As a Disc Jockey specializing in 40's 50's and 60's this was a great experience to see and touch where so much history was made. The tour Guide was awesome very informative and entertaining. I will be back again for sure loved it
Excellent tour conducted by an excellent knowledgable guide. Well stocked shop which charges reasonable prices . If you love music then it's the tour for you....
Amazing to stand in the studio that so many greats recorded!!!
Too crowded in each tour. Hardly any elbow room. Overall, great tour!
Well worth a visit. Tour guide was the best, very knowledgable and enthusiastic about the studios.
considering all the size of the venue the tour was excellent, so glad i did it. the tour guide was great and you could take as many photographs as you wanted and didn't feel rushed at all.
Great tour. Steeped in music history. Well worth a visit.
This was an awesome experience for the entire family. My husband is a musician and he loved it. They were filled with history and the tour girl was fun and informative. The studio still records music today in this 1950's started recording studio. Everyone should stop by Sun Studios and enjoy the entire experience.
Everyone should go.. Nice folks, interesting tour and to me just the right length
More interesting than i thought, informative and fun.
Great experience - tour director very knowledgeable. Very nostalgic.
A great tour. Lots of music information. Tour guide was awesome. I highly recommend tour while in Memphis.
This as a elvis was important to me and the staff were superb
The tour of Sun Records greatly exceeded our expectations. We had a wonderful tour guide, Nick, who made the experience so memorable. He made us feel that we were transported back to that time with his stories and vignettes from the 50s and 60s. We liked it so much that following the tour we sat in the little soda shop and had a coffee. Kudos to Jake too for his help and kindness.
Tour was very informative and enjoyed it very much.
For all fans of music a must , great tour presented by a very enthusiastic host
I thoroughly enjoyed hearing all the little stories and tales of those who passed through the studio. As an Elvis fan from way back seeing where he had done so much 'work' and all the memorabilia was just great. It was a wonderful way to begin my stay in Memphis.
My tour was great!!!
If you are heading to Sun Studios you will probably already understand the significance of this place in modern music history. It is such an unassuming building and yet in those four walls stood most of the greats in American music. The tour is very low key but is given by very knowledge I guides who inform you about the history of Sun and Sam Phillips and the. Lead you through to the actual studio where Elvis, Jerry Lee, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins etc all made their music. The cafe and gift shop are very good also and I could not recommend this tour highly enough.
1 hour of great facts, pictures and atmosphere. Guide new his stuff and made the tour a great experiance, a must visit when in Memphis.
This tour was amazing!

Any music fan, especially of the baby boom generation, will find it exciting. The roots of rock and roll are in this studio, The guide did an excellent job of bringing the story to life. We grew up with Elvis, Johnny Cash , etc. It was a thrill.
We were lucky to have a great and humorous guide who talked us through how forward thinking and adventurous Sam Phillips created Sun Studios. How the story of how Elvis started and the million dollar quartet. To be in the very studio where it all happened was simply amazing
was a great tour. great tour guide very informing
Excellent tour and tour guide's enthusiasm and informative attitude made the tour. Not a lot to see therefore history and music support by guide was essential. Photo opportunity at end with props was great.
The roots of Rock N Roll! Elvis and #39; mic, the memorabilia, Ryan, our Guide! It was AWESOME!
You HAVE to go here if you are a fan of the music from Memphis. Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging. The music, the history and just being in the room where some of the most influential music from the United States was made was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The best tour we attended. It doesn't matter if you are a musician or someone who simply loves music, this has something for everyone. Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging....

a great experience throughout.
This is a place I had always wanted to visit. It didn't disappoint and the guide was exceptionally good.
Just a short drive from Graceland Sun Studios is still in it's original state, recording equipment, the original microphone used by Elvis, the piano that Jerry Lee Lewis burnt a hole in the ivories with a cigarette. Sam Phillips history what a far seeing man he was. There is so much information, photographs and memories. Our guide was great so enthusiastic about all aspects. A really good tour.
Sun Studio tour was a highlight of our stay in Memphis. The tour guide was so enthusiastic and full of knowledge. I would recommend this tour to anyone. The feeling of the place is so worth the visit.

Excellent tour, the guide was very informative, certainly was great to see where it all began
Very well done. Learned a lot about the early days of recording.
Our guides were very informative. Most of the people in my party were not big Elvis fans but they enjoyed the tour and learned a few things about him.
Another great tour and one not to be missed. If you like music, the historical perspective is wonderful. It is truly standing on the steps of music history as the influence is still felt today. Sun studios is full of memorabilia that relates to so many well-known musicians. The tour guide was full of energy, made it a great deal of fun and certainly knew the history of the studio. Well done and worth the visit. I am going to Nashville next and will follow up with a visit to RCA where many of the Sun artists went to next.
Well informed and humorous tour guide aided by historic displays. A must do for those with even a minor interest in the development of 20 th century popular music

Fantastic Experience!! Great bus driver in Michelle who knew everything. Really Good.
Fantastic tour....and just fantastic to be standing in the same spot where a lot of rock and roll music was born. Spine tingling moments as you realise that you are standing where legends like Elvis, Johnny Cash, U2, Roy Orbison stood to record some of their records. Highly recommend.
Fantastic!!! great tour guide, wonderful place to hang out for a while and take in where Elvis and other early rock and roll stars made their first recordings of their music.
Excellent tour to stand in a studio that has remained unchanged over all those years ,we realised how talented the artists of the time needed to be as they had very basic recording equipment unlike today where almost anyone can be made to sound good
This tour was excellent,we were met by this sweet girl, who took us upstairs of the record studio to start the tour. She was very prepared to answer questions and to give us information on Sam Phillips, and the entertainers that were produced there at Sun Studios. Later we went downstairs to the actual recording studio. Was most interesting listening to clips made by Elvis and Roy Orbinson.Time on your own after to take pictures and to shop for gifts.
It was great. Everything worked to plan, could not have been better. Booking through Viator was a breeze.
Really interesting, we had a great time, highly recommended!
A visit to Sun Studio is a must on a visit to Memphis. Our guide was fab, and it was amazing to see where rock n' roll started!
Excellent value for money and highly informative.
Was the highlight of our trip!! A real blast.
For all the old rockers out there, this is a must see. To actually have trod the same paths as the legends of rock n' roll, this was brilliant.
It was for sure an excellent experience.
This tour was taken as part of an 'Elvis Extravaganza' organised for my birthday by my Mum & Dad. It was pure nostalgia and the guide who, like me, was much too young to have been around at the time of the studio's historic events was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
I paid a visit to the Sun Studio in November and have to admit it was unbelievable. One can almost feel the presence of all the greats who made their debut in this historic mecca of Rock and Roll. It was truly inspirational.
This was my second visit. The music history that goes with this small studio is amazing. If I ever get the chance I would go again.
A great and special look back in history and to stand and be in the place where some of the greats recorded and performed will stay with me forever.
I am 4x the age of my 16-year old son and we both enjoyed it tremendously.
