Santa Fe Art Tours

Art enthusiasts and foodies, unite! This innovative walking tour highlights two sides of Santa Fe's bustling Railyard district – upscale art galleries and the Santa Fe Farmers' Market – and weaves together mindfulness, making, and the farm-to-table mentality in a way that’s accessible to all.

What You'll Do

Join local artist Liz Brindley for a walk through the Santa Fe Railyard and dive into art through an ecological lens. Practice deep looking at paintings and veggies to discover the interconnection of the natural and human-made world. This unique and highly interactive exploration of art and food includes two to three gallery visits, a trip to the Santa Fe Farmers’ Market, and a hands-on printmaking workshop to create your own food-inspired artwork. Dig in!

Meet your guide, Liz, in the Santa Fe Railyard, and then head to the Railyard Arts District. Housed in airy, warehouse-style spaces, the galleries of the Railyard Arts District show an inspiring array of artwork, from sleek contemporary art to earthy, textured textiles and ancient artifacts. Visit a selection of two to three galleries and take a deep dive into the work on view through lively group conversation.

Then, head into the bustling Santa Fe Farmer's Market, which has been voted one of the top farmers' markets in the country by USA Today, Sunset Magazine, and America Unravelled. Having worked closely with many of the farmers who sell produce there, Liz has the inside scoop. She'll escort you through the market, where you'll meet local farmers and gather inspiration – and materials – for your hands-on workshop.

What better souvenir of your Railyard experience than an original artwork of your own design? After visiting the Railyard art galleries and the Farmers' Market, you'll be bursting with ideas. Each tour will end at form & concept, an airy and vibrant art gallery, where Liz will guide you through the process of making your own print with local produce gathered from the market. No prior printmaking experience is necessary – this workshop is suitable for experts and beginners alike.

On this tour, you'll:
  • Visit the Railyard District art galleries
  • Meet local farmers and sample delicious treats at the Farmers’ Market
  • Practice mindful looking at both art and food
  • Discover the interconnection of the natural and human-made world
  • Create your own food-inspired artwork to take with you
