What a beautiful place! The tour was fantastic. The grounds are breathtaking.
My group had so much fun on the tour, the docents were so wonderful, knowledgeable, and helpful. Property was gorgeous and beautifully maintained. I am looking forward to going again
The house is magnificent and the tour guide was excellent and very knowledgeable
You could spend an entire day there. The house and grounds are amazing! Don't miss the carriage house!
This is at least our third tour in 6 years bringing friends from out of state to this tour. It was the best so far! Everyone enjoyed it and Mr. O’Connor was informative and enthusiastic about the house and family who resided there. Very pleased with our experience.
Our tour guide gave us a great overview with enough specifics to keep it not just factual but interesting. We are grateful to all of those responsible through the years who have contributed to the preservation and maintenance of the estate.
A very enjoyable tour through a lavishly furnished mansion from the gilded age, well presented by a knowledgeable guide.
The Maymont Foundation has done a terrific job at restoring the estate. All the staff members are very nice.
Wonderful and friendly staff provided a great touring experience! The gardens are breathtaking!
Guide was excellent. Entertaining as well. Noon tour today. Do not recall his name but he was fabulous.
It was wonderful! Great tour guide!
Very interesting and informative. Gorgeous mansion and wonderful representation of the Gilded Age!
Well worth seeing for its extensive decoration of the Gilded Age. In perfect condition due to the dedication of its volunteers and sponsors.
The your guide was willing to answer questions with relatively detailed explanations. The house is gorgeous. Loved all the decorative we elements. Hope to take the your again.
The guided tour of the house was wonderful. Hats off to our guide, Ian. The grounds are beautiful and we spent several hours exploring the gardens and wild life center. All this for $5.00 per person. Highly recommended.
The guide was very knowledgeable and professional. We truly enjoyed the tour of the mansion and the friendliness of the guide.
Our tour was outstanding! The guide explained the house and furnishings. She answered our questions.
Our guide was very pleasant and gave us a wonderful history of Maymont and how life was then.
Our guide was wonderful! She was full of information and history of Maymont.
Wonderful docent who made the Gilded Age come alive. A must see when in Richmond.
The tour was full of great stories and interesting history
The tour was wonderful. We learned a lot and would return again!
It did feel a little rushed but the guide did a great job tying to show us everything and include personal tidbits on the family which was wonderful!
The guided tour was outstanding. We only had 4 in our group, myself and my wife and another couple. This allowed out guide to be very detailed, answer all of our questions, and to move slowly and not rush just to get done. We found the guided tour very informative and would not have known any of the information that was shared with us by just walking on our own. There was nothing to read so being told made all the difference. If we went on the self-guided tour we would have just looked and said oh that's nice and been done in 20 minutes. Our tour was an entire hour, it may not have supposed to have been as another employee eventually found us to get our guide because they had been calling him on the radio but we didn't hear it going off. Highly recommend doing.
I accidentally booked online for the next day but we were accommodated graciously and also had a very informative docent. Great experience!
Knowledgeable guide, very engaging.
And kudos to our lovely docent who so skillfully engaged our grandsons in the tour! Thank you!
Very interesting and informative
Very informative and lots to see!
Top of the line personal, Very knowledagble.
The guide tour was excellent and accommdated us even though we were a few minutes late after walking from the Farm Parking Lot.
Lovely Mansion and knowledgeable guide!
We had a great guide who was so knowledgable about the mansion and furnishings. I was amazed that 95% of the furnishing were original to the home. Cathy was great as our guide and everyone we talked to was very pleasant.
our guide was very knowledgeable but her delivery was very scripted and it sounded memorized. I realize that guides must have to repeat details of the house over and over but she was officious and monotone for most of the tour.
The mansion was stunning and the tour guide very knowledgeable and articulate. She was especially accommodating when I told her I am hard of hearing and made sure I heard everything. I've would have liked to learn as little more of the children who lived in the mansion but overall I was very happy I took the tour.
It was outstanding and beautiful ! Tour guide was very informative about the history of it all
The most informative part of the tour were the back stairs exhibits reflecting the servants’ lives. Our guide upstairs was interesting.
The mansion is magnificent and the docent was very personable and knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit today.
Beautiful and informational of another era.
Our guide was excellent and provided many interesting facts and insights into the Dooley's life in the mansion...bravo!
We were very impressed with the tour and tour guide. If you want to see how the well-to-do lived in the Victorian Age, this is the ideal place to do it! Grounds are also beautiful; especially the Japanese Gardens!
Excellent tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and answered all questions. The downstairs self guided tour was very interesting and informative.
Knowledgable guide, very informative
The guide was knowledgeable and the mansion was beautiful. What a great history lesson
it was a very interesting and beautiful place.
It was lovely and so interesting!
The landscape is very beautiful and we are enjoyed the tour to the mansion! The lady is very knowledgeable and polite. I will share my experience with all my friend. Thanks!!
Tour was informative and interesting.
Very professional and interesting
Not enough benches outside, to much standing in one place tour guide was okay. The mansion was beautiful though.
Great tour of the mansion and enjoyed walking the property. Wear comfortable shoes!
I thought they will tell more history of the Family and Mansion.
Interesting and informative, guide very funny and keeps you engaged, but should speak slower.
We enjoyed excellent guided tours of the grounds (via a golf cart tour) and the Mansion. The enthusiasm and courtesy shown by every staff member we encountered, was impressive. Special mention goes to Kevin Alan, customer service manager, who went above and beyond to ensure our enjoyment of our tours. Maymont is a must see for any individual or family visiting Richmond!
The tour was absolutely amazing. Our guide Sandy, was so knowledgeable and entertaining. The mansion itself was beyond beautiful.
Our Guide was very informative and knowledgeable about the house. Maymont Mansion is beautiful. I really enjoyed the tour of "below stairs" to see how much work must have gone in to the operation of the household
We loved the tour and we absolutely loved the house. The best part was having the dressmaker actress in period attire that spoke about the outfits she was making. It was a great touch.
Excellent tour guide
Very enjoyable outing. Learned a lot about the Gilded age in Richmond.
Beautiful grounds, lovely tour guides, and the mansion is fun to walk around and see the antique and historical furnishings.
Tour was good and informative!
Beautiful house! So glad we were still able to see it decorated for Christmas.
Maymont Mansion is beyond gorgeous! The docents are very knowledgeable and give interesting tours. The grounds are also beautiful and full of other cool things to see and do.
The tour was very well explained by the Docent . We enjoyed the experience . When I was a child I was raised in a large Victorian home and this tour provided many memories of the home . Special for me to enjoy !
Very nice tour and history of property
It was fun to see how the mansion might have been decorated during Christmas when the Dooleys lived there. As my son says, the mansion and basement rooms are set up as if the people who lived there had just stepped out. Our guide was very knowledgeable and able to answer our questions.
The tour was great; so interesting to hear the details of the Dooleys' life in the mansion as well as the roles of staff. Our docent was quite good, but a bit hard to hear, especially at the ends of her sentences (voice went lower). We enjoyed our tour; thank you.
My husband and I have lived in Virginia for almost 36 years and this was our very first visit and it most definatley won't be our last! What a hidden treasure!
Staff was friendly. Tour guide was nice. Just a bit boring, especially for little ones. Would highly recommend for history buffs or older folks. Would not recommend for young families.
Informative and fun!
Evelyn was wonderful! We thoroughly enjoyed our first but not last time at the Dooley Mansion!
Very good. Hope the 3rd floor can be opened soon. Enjoyed seeing the downstairs working area which had not been open last time we were there!
Maymont closed at 12:00 today, due to weather. We have around 12 inches of snow and still counting. The staff at Maymont was wonderful about notifying us earlier in the week that closing may occur. They also made sure that we were abreast of the situation today. Oncethere die nothing.
Loved the mansion and the gardens. Our tour guide, Sandie (Sandra?) was excellent. The guided tour was about 1 hour, on the first and second floors. Great presentation and great information
Evelyn was great! Very knowledgeable and friendly. She answered all of our questions! My first visit to Maymont, but not my last!
Wonderful tour of a Richmond landmark. Docent was an excellent guide!
I enjoyed the experience and seeing the period mansion.
We had a great tour and our docent was very good, she brought the house to life!
Very informational and enjoyable !
We enjoyed the unique sense of style of the mansion, and the grounds were beautiful. Well worth the trip.

Fantastic tour! Our Guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about the home. Home is amazing!
What an amazing place to visit!! The gardens are gorgeous! The house is beyond AMAZING!! We especially enjoyed the interactive areas in the basement. So well planned out and informative! Our guide for the main part of the house was so knowledgeable and well spoken. Just loved everything about our experience there!
This was one of the best days my friends and I have had!! There were 5 of us that toured the gardens, walked around to experience the animals in the outdoors area. The Mansion tour was exceptional!! Our guide was so thorough, knowledgeable, and just the best we could have wished for. Thank you, thank you and yes.....we will be back in the fall to see the grounds in fall foliage. Marge Block
